🏛️ 2026 Tax Reform Notice: Belgium is implementing a major federal tax shift (fiscale hervorming / réforme fiscale). Parameters below reflect the latest available 2026 indexation as of August 2026. Some brackets may still be subject to legislative adjustment. Check SPF Finances for updates ↗
💡 How Belgian tax works: Belgium uses a progressive income tax (Impôt fédéral / Federale belasting) with 4 brackets. First, social security (RSZ/ONSS 13.07%) is deducted from gross and is tax-deductible. A personal allowance and professional expenses (cumulative bracket calculation) reduce the taxable base. Municipal surcharges (Additionnels communaux / Gemeentebelasting) are applied on top of federal tax.
